Day 1 : Delhi to Manali

Assemble at R K Ashram Metro Station, in Delhi at 17:00 hrs & board your bus for Manali. Overnight bus journey.
Day 2 : Manali

Arrive in Manali, in the morning & pick will be arranged to drop us to our hotel in Manali. On arrival breakfast will be served & later followed by Lunch. After resting for couple of hours we take an acclimatization walk & also visit the famous Manu temple & Hadimba Devi temple followed by a visit to the local market, here you can do a bit of shopping, buy anything necessary for the trek like e.g Poncho (Rain Sheet) locally know as "Barsati", gloves, local woollen socks etc...


In the evening Introduction with the trekking & camping team, followed by few tips on packing & brief idea about the journey ahead. Overnight at hotel in Manali.

Day 3 : Drive from Manali to Jobri & trek to Chikka (3200 mts)

Drive duration: 45 mins

Trek duration - (Approx 3 hrs)


After breakfast we drive to Jobri & start the trek by stepping into a mixed forest of Deodar, Toss, Oak and Maple trees. The beauty is stunning. We cross a makeshift wooden bridge over the Rani Nalla and gently climb over a bump to enter a forest of Deodar trees. We cross numerous streams on the way, after crossing the Nalla, Chikka is barely half an hour away. It is a short steep climb over a grassy ridge. Overnight in tents at Chikka.

Day 4 : Trek from Chikka to Seri ( 3600 mts)

Trek duration - (Approx 4 hrs)

 The first part of the trail winds through birch forests before opening on to the huge meadow at Seri. The camp at the opposite end of the meadow is about an hour’s walk away. Overnight in tents at Seri.

Day 5 : Trek from Seri to Chota Chandertal Lake ( 4200 mts) & return to Tainta (3900 mts)

Trek duration - (Approx 6 hrs) 


The initial part of the trek is all flat and easy walking till you come to a stream. After crossing the stream the trails is uphill through boulders till you reach Tainta.

From here on the path  is all through a moraine with some uphill stretches but the view of Deo Tibba guides you all the way up to the Chota Chandertal lake.  After having our packed lunch & soaking the beauty of Chota Chandertal lake we trek back to our camp at Tainta. Overnight in tents at Tainta

Day 6 : Trek from Tainta to Chikka (3200 mts)

Trek duration - (Approx 5 hrs)


After breakfast we trek down the same route to our first camp at Chikka which is a sacred place for the local people, besides the most regarded Shivling there is also an idol of a snake in between the crack of big stone which is not man made & is also very scared to the local people. Overnight in tents at Chikka.

Day 7 : Trek from Chikka to Jobri & drive to Manali

Trek duration - (Approx 2 hrs)

Drive duration: 45 mins


After breakfast we trek back to Jobri Dam site, from there on we board our vehicle, which will drive us down to Manali. Overnight at hotel in Manali.

Day 8 : Manali

After a leisurely breakfast we drive to Manali for some last minute shopping, lunch at a hotel in Manali & after that we board our bus for Delhi. Overnight bus journey.

Day 9 : Delhi

Arrive in Delhi in the morning approx 08:30 hrs & start your onward journey back home with a backpack full of memories.
Chota Chandertal lake trek is considered one of the most scenic, summer high altitude trek which winds its way through lush green meadows and alpine forests. With awesome view of some of the 6000 meter peaks, like Indrasan (6221 mts), Deo-Tibba (6001 mts), also the many mountain streams / log bridges & glaciers that one has to cross surely makes this trek worth experiencing. The view from Piyangniru is just picture perfect.

- Tents with sleeping bags & carry mats on trekking days on twin sharing basis. (4 Nights)


2. Meals


Full board starts with breakfast on day 2nd and finish with lunch at Manali on day 08th.


3. Trekking & Camping. 


- 5 days trekking, Guide, Cook, Porters, Mules, Mats, Sleeping bags and tents etc.


4.  Transportation


- Volvo bus from Delhi to Manali & back.


- Qualis / Scorpio or similar from Manali to Manali for all road journeys besides trekking days & as mentioned in the itinerary above.

2. Paragliding, Zorbing or Horse riding cost.


3. Expenses of personal nature such as phone calls, outside eatables, drinks (Mineral Water, Aerated /Alcohol Drinks), laundry, tips, etc.


4. Cost of any form of insurance, rescue, evacuation, hospitalization, etc.


5. Any change in the itinerary, stay on account of flight/ train cancellation due to bad weather, ill health and road block etc... factors which are beyond our control.


6. Any other expense not mentioned in the 'cost includes' column.


Basic points to keep in mind for an enjoyable trip


  • Nature is fun to explore but not a toy to exploit. Respect its harmony and maintain the balance needed to retain its beauty and treasures. Please abide the specific guidelines we share with you on the trip.
  • This trip is not a regular excursion / exercise with family and friends. It unlocks the wonderful world of nature and brings its magic alive. Do choose the trip to be nature’s special guest.
  • Like all outdoor trips, this one requires basic fitness. Also, you will be responsible for taking care of your personal belongings.
  • Your experience of the trip depends on a lot of factors like the climatic conditions, your health conditions and the overall physical terrain.

Disclosures on medical conditions


  • It is mandatory that you visit your personal physician before enrolling for the trip if you suffer from any illness of any kind. Please disclose any medical condition / history to the organizers of the trip so that the best possible arrangements can be carried out post approval.
  • As organizers of the trip, we will be responsible for providing basic first aid throughout the trip. In case of unexpected mishaps or accidents, we will arrange for the injured patron to be taken to the nearest medical hospital wherever possible. The medical expenses will have to be borne by the patrons themselves.

Payment, refund and cancellation terms


  • Eligibility for this Outdoor trip is 12 years, however for some adventures the age criteria may differ kindly check before you enroll yourself or children
  • We do not have a child rate for our trips unless mentioned.
  • We will try our best to follow the itinerary of the trip shared with you but bear in mind those factors out of our control that may change the schedule.
  • You will be required to make the full payment at the time you confirm your enrolment for the trip.
  • In case you opt for cancellation, no requests for transfer or postponement will be considered.
  • The refund you will be entitled to will strictly follow the time schedule below.
     -   You get a 50% refund, if your cancellation reaches us more than 30 days prior to departure.

-   You get a 25% refund, if your cancellation reaches us 15-29 days prior to departure.

-   You get no refund, if your cancellation reaches us only 15 or less days prior to departure.


  • Please note that ‘The Nomadic Quest’ reserves the right of refusal and the right to cancel any booking (for example when the basic feasible quota of people required has not been met). In such an event, as a participant you will be entitled to a refund.
  • In the event of uncontrollable factors like landslides, avalanche, civil strife, war, transportation delays, etc, it will not be possible to issue refunds but we will surely take all necessary steps to assist you in the situation.
  • The cost mentioned above is for Indian citizens. Foreigners / NRIs will need to pay extra if and as applicable.

  • Wear comfortable full cotton casual top and track pants.
