Day 1 : Pathankot to Khajjiar via Dalhousie (5 hrs)

The drive starts from the foot hills of the Shivalik hills, from Pathankot to Khajjiar total drive will be around 105 km which can take up to 3 to 4 hrs. Before going to Khajjiar we spend some time in Dalhousie market.  Khajjiar also known as Mini Switzerland is situated at an altitude of 1920 m 22 km E of Dalhousie, this locality is a charming spot of great natural beauty. Shaped like a green saucer and surrounded by high mountains and gigantic deodar trees, in the center of the meadow is a circular lake with small floating plants, on the shore is a small hamlet and an old temple of the serpent god.
Day 2 : Khajjiar to Bhari Drive and trek from Bhari to Darkund (4 hr)

Drive from Khajjiar to Bhari via Chamba (Trek from Bhari to Darkund) where we visit the local market & Laxmi Narayan Temple, Bhuri Singh Musuem, Chowgan Ground, Palace (which was converted into College few years ago). We stop for Lunch at Rakh on the main Chamba – Bharmour road (Local Food),After finishing our lunch we will again drive till Donali and leave the main Chamba - Bharmour Highway. Donali is a small settlement with a few eateries,  from Donali the small road cuts towards the Lamdal trek which is only 5 to 7 kms till Kundi. From Kundi we have to ascend on foot and start the trek till Darkund village. The last stretch goes through dense woods until arriving at Darkund Rest House pleasantly situated in an apple orchard, with the Donali Nala following 100 m below.
Day 3 : Darkund to Farku

From Darkund the 2 km stretch goes through the dense forests one has to follow Donali Nala and the distance till Farku is about 7 to 8 kms up hill.
Day 4 : Farku to Biliyani Allayas

After breakfast we will start our trek towards Allayas. The trek is mostly up hill and the distance is about 7 to 8 km, route offers a great view of Pir Panjal and Great Himalayan range while walking. (Allayas also known as the Base Camp for the Pass
Day 5 : Biliyani Allayas to Lamdal (3 hrs up) & back to Farku (2hrs down).

Today we walk over a moraine, the lake is situated right below the pass and several snow gullies can be seen sweeping down from the ridge.  These lakes are very sacred to the local people. The famous lakes are Kali Dal, Chanderkup, Nag Dal.
Day 6 : Farku to Gahera (4hrs) Drive from Gahera to Chamba.

Today we will descend till Gahera and by the time we reach the road it will take us approx around 4 hrs, vehicle will be waiting for us at the road head to take us to Chamba where we check- into our hotel.
Day 7 : Drive from Chamba to Pathankot (4hrs).

After Breakfast we will visit Chamunda Matta Temple and there after we drive to Pathankot or Chakki Bank station.
 
Chamba
Among the many beautiful glacial lakes in the Dhauladhar mountain range, prominent among them is the Lam Dal which is the biggest with a circumference of about 2.5 km. It is a very sacred lake and considered to be the abode of Lord Shiva. Each year pilgrims take a holy dip here in the month of August and September just when the Manimahesh yatra begins.There are other very sacred lakes like the Nag Dal / Nag Chattri Dal. This lake owes its history to the Bhagsunag Temple and is considered very sacred. This lake is dedicated to the Nag Devta or The Lord King Cobra.

2. Meals

 

Full board starts with evening tea on day 1 and ends with breakfast on day 7.

 

3. Trekking & Camping. 

 

- 4 days trekking, Guide, Porters, Cook, Mats, Sleeping bags and tents etc.

 

4.  Transportation

 

- Pickup from Chakki Bank or Pathankot Railway Station in Jeep (Scorpio / Sumo / Taverra Non A/C) with a well experienced driver and Drop at Khajjiar.

 

- Khajjiar to Bhari in  a non a/c mini bus.

 

- Chamba to Pathankot or Chakki Bank station in Jeep (Scorpio / Sumo / Taverra Non A/C).

Exclusion

1. Any kind of train or air fare.

 

2. Paragliding, Zorbing or Horse riding cost.

 

3. Expenses of personal nature such as phone calls, outside eatables, drinks (Mineral Water, Aerated /Alcohol Drinks), laundry, tips, etc.

 

4. Cost of any form of insurance, rescue, evacuation, hospitalization, etc.

 

5. Any change in the itinerary, stay on account of flight/ train cancellation due to bad weather, ill health and road block etc... factors which are beyond our control.

 

6. Any other expense not mentioned in the 'cost includes' column.

  • Like all outdoor trips, this one requires basic fitness. Also, you will be responsible for taking care of your personal belongings.
  • Your experience of the trip depends on a lot of factors like the climatic conditions, your health conditions and the overall physical terrain.

Disclosures on medical conditions

 

  • It is mandatory that you visit your personal physician before enrolling for the trip if you suffer from any illness of any kind. Please disclose any medical condition / history to the organizers of the trip so that the best possible arrangements can be carried out post approval.
  • As organizers of the trip, we will be responsible for providing basic first aid throughout the trip. In case of unexpected mishaps or accidents, we will arrange for the injured patron to be taken to the nearest medical hospital wherever possible. The medical expenses will have to be borne by the patrons themselves.

Payment, refund and cancellation terms

 

  • Eligibility for this Outdoor trip is 12 years, however for some adventures the age criteria may differ kindly check before you enrol yourself or children
  • We do not have a child rate for our trips unless mentioned.
  • We will try our best to follow the itinerary of the trip shared with you but bear in mind those factors out of our control that may change the schedule.
  • You will be required to make the full payment at the time you confirm your enrolment for the trip.
  • In case you opt for cancellation, no requests for transfer or postponement will be considered.
  • The refund you will be entitled to will strictly follow the time schedule below.
     -   You get a 50% refund, if your cancellation reaches us more than 30 days prior to departure.

-   You get a 25% refund, if your cancellation reaches us 15-29 days prior to departure.

-   You get no refund, if your cancellation reaches us only 15 or less days prior to departure.

 

  • Please note that ‘The Nomadic Quest’ reserves the right of refusal and the right to cancel any booking (for example when the basic feasible quota of people required has not been met). In such an event, as a participant you will be entitled to a refund.
  • In the event of uncontrollable factors like landslides, avalanche, civil strife, war, transportation delays, etc, it will not be possible to issue refunds but we will surely take all necessary steps to assist you in the situation.
  • The cost mentioned above is for Indian citizens. Foreigners / NRIs will need to pay extra if and as applicable.
